GlycoSeLect announces GLYcoDiag as a new distributor of its RPL recombinant lectin products
Dublin, Ireland – GlycoSeLect strengthens its collaboration with GLYcoDiag, initiated five years ago.
GLYcoDiag produces and designs specialized products for glycosciences, and has now added the recombinant prokaryotic lectins (RPLs) from GlycoSeLect to their 2020 catalogue.
Lectins are glyco-affinity proteins, with the ability to specifically bind sugars. They are ubiquitous in nature, being found in all kinds of organisms (virus, microorganisms, plants, invertebrates and vertebrates), and are usually oligomeric proteins and have many binding sites.
GlycoSeLect has developed a range of RPL products exhibiting specificity and high affinity for a range of glycan epitopes displaying terminal galactose and mannose (including high mannose structures).
Applications of RPL products include the detection, isolation and structural studies of glycoproteins, identification and separation of different cell types, diagnostic assays, and purification of glycobiomolecules.
With this new agreement, GlycoSeLect hopes to harness GLYcoDiag’s vast expertise to reach an extended network of glycobiology researchers, biopharmaceutical companies and potential customers.
“GlycoSeLect is delighted to extend its relationship with GLYcoDiag. We have worked with Ludovic and his team for several years and look forward to supporting their efforts to bring our innovative glycoprotein separation RPL technology to its network.” – Robert Dunne, CEO at GlycoSeLect.
GLYcoDiag is a research and development company (SME) specialized in glycobiology and glycoanalysis projects and products. GLYcoDiag’s technology GLYcoPROFILE® (French Trademark) is intended for the determination of interaction profiles with lectins allowing to identify “glycans signatures” on the surface of molecules or cells. Conversely, the strategy is adapted for the study of the interactions with carbohydrates binding proteins expressed by cells. This unique expertise makes GLYcoDiag the partner of choice when your project is related to “complex carbohydrates”.
